What it is
A silicone-and-water lotion rather than a straight oil, which is what lets the shimmer sit evenly instead of sinking to the bottom of the bottle. The glow comes from Mica with Titanium Dioxide and Tin Dioxide — the standard way a cosmetic pearl effect is built.
It is also the only bottle in the tanning range carrying Niacinamide (vitamin B3) and Glycerin, both well-established skin-conditioning ingredients. If the older oils feel like 1995, this one is where the range is going.
How it smells
The same coconut and caramel as the Coconut Tanning Oil, carried in a lotion rather than an oil, so it reads a little lighter on skin.
The scent itself comes from Parfum. The Cocos Nucifera Oil in the formula is there to condition, not to perfume.
How to use it
- Shake before use. Shimmer settles, however well it is suspended.
- Spread thin and even. Pearl pigment shows streaks more readily than a plain lotion does.
- Keep it off your face if you would rather not shimmer — and put real SPF there instead.
- Reapply every two hours and after swimming.
What is in it
Twenty-one ingredients — the longest of the tanning range, mostly because a stable shimmer suspension needs more scaffolding than an oil does.
