What it is
A step up from the 15 in both filter load and texture. Homosalate joins the filter list, and the emollient system gets heavier — silicones, esters and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride — which is what makes a mid-high SPF spreadable rather than draggy.
SPF 35 filters roughly 97% of UVB against 93% at SPF 15. The gap between the two is smaller than the numbers imply, and much smaller than the gap between applying enough and not. There is more on that in the SPF article.
How to use it
- Half a teaspoon for face and neck, about 30 ml for the body — a shot glass.
- Apply on dry skin before you go out.
- Reapply every two hours, and immediately after swimming or towelling off.
- Do not forget ears, neck and the tops of your feet.
What is in it
Thirty-six ingredients. The filters and the emollients that carry them account for most of it.
